Billyard Avenue

Elizabeth Bay

This adaptive reuse project in Elizabeth Bay pushed the boundaries of what can be retained in an existing building.

Every internal wall was removed to facilitate the new internal floor layout, whilst maintaining the majority of floor plates to keep the building envelope and therefore building height the same. This required 1291 props, 6 earthquake bracing towers and over 30000 demolition hours. Careful hand demolition was required to expose existing reinforcement which allowed new continuous concrete bands for the new wall load paths.
