Opened in August 2016, the i360 tower is a project that followed on from the London Eye and has set the record for the world’s most slender tower.
Our specialisation in structural dynamics and mechanics saw us responsible for the dynamics and wind engineering on the glass and steel structure in Brighton.
Standing at 162m, the glass platform is required to withstand high wind loads. PMI's expertise in dynamic analysis and damping systems (TLD's) was pivotal in the structural performance of the glazing.
The British Airways i360 was recently awarded the Supreme Award for Structural Engineering Excellence by IStructE, as well as the award for Tall or Slender Structures.
