The Shine Dome

We worked with ARC Roofing to develop an engineered solution to replace the roof cladding at the Shine Dome in Canberra. The primary constraint was not being able to fix directly into the existing heritage-listed concrete dome because of existing cast-in service ducts and pipes.
Our solution was to create a tension 'net' of steel straps (longitudinal and circumferential) which provide fixing points for the new cladding, while staying completely isolated from the dome below.
